Healthy 2020 challenge: Week 4

It’s week 4 of the challenge, but how much of a challenge has it been for you? Are you adding in the Healthy 2020 changes to your lifestyle? I’d like to know if you are, contact details below.

So, before we get to the healthy change for this week, let’s recap weeks 1 – 3.

Recap

  • Week 1: Drink 2 litres of water per day
  • Week 2: Eat breakfast within one hour of waking up (it could have been any breakfast – didn’t have to be healthy)
  • Week 3: Eat a healthy breakfast (there are plenty of suggestions in the previous post)

Challenge for week 4

The challenge for week 4 is to add two portions of fruits of veggies in your diet per day. You can add it in as part of a snack or as part of a meal. It doesn’t matter when you eat it. It can be a banana, carrots, strawberries, broccoli, etc.

The catch is to eat it in a non-processed form. What I mean by that, the fresher you can eat it the better (some vegetables are a bit tricky, but they are the exception).

If you struggle to eat the fruits and veg raw, try blending them into a healthy smoothie. Note, a smoothie is much better than just juicing, because when you juice you lose a lot of the fiber that makes you feel full and you’re stuck with all the sugar.

If you already eat about two or more portions of fruits and veg per day, see if you can add in new ones.

And that’s it – short and sweet.

Let me know if you’re following the challenge, I’d love to hear from you. Contact details below.

Meh.
